Coming up on October 26th, the final race for the inaugural Fields of Joy Cyclocross series promises to be a big one! Not only will every entrant go into the draw to win a bicycle from Giant but every registered rider will also be getting a free back issue of Treadlie Magazine together with a bar from our friends at Good Fuel.
Fields of Joy is unique in having it’s very own dedicated cyclocross venue. With the emphasis on good times, fun and hard racing everyone is welcome. FOJ have held several Women’s Development sessions and are determined to grow the field for the women’s racing.
While the course is permanent it will change race-to-race to keep everyone fresh. The inside word on the changes made for this next race is “Fast & flowy grass work around the race village” although after the rain leading up to the weekend that may change! The race village will be big and noisy and a hill-top viewing area means spectators get a great view. A separate kids course in the village means the little kids can keep riding laps ALL DAY LONG.
You DO need to register beforehand (unless you’re racing in the kid’s category) so make sure you do so now!
You’ll find all the details of the race schedule and how to get there over at the Fields of Joy blog. Developed and raced by Sunbury Cycling Club with the support of Essendon Fields, Fields of Joy will be fundraising for local Michael Blyth who has also helped design the course.
