There’s a new gran fondo in town. The Noosa Classic will be held on Sunday 26 August and is offering something for everyone in a scenic ride through Queensland’s hinterland roads.
Riders can choose from three courses: the Maxi Classic, a challenging 160-kilometre ride through stunning surrounds; the Challenge Classic, a 120-kilometre journey for “those with less time on their hands, or distance in their legs”; and the Social Classic, a 45-kilometre pedal for families and kids through the Noosa region.
The Noosa Classic is a showcase of the local countryside. Rides commence in Tewantin and the routes go through Noosa, Brooloo, Kinkin, Ridgewood and surrounding areas and finish in Noosa.
In a twist, Noosa Classic riders are able to select their own charity to contribute to via the event. Early bird registrations are open until 27 April and come with a free jersey plus a 10 per cent discount.
