What’s up? In this bike store in South Korea’s Jeju Island, the answer is bikes!
Jeju Island is a popular destination for tourists, where cycling is the perfect way to check out local sights. This store rents and sells only folding bikes, plus it caters for yoga and other sports-related workshops.
To enable these various uses, Tokyo’s Schemata Architects installed a vertically-movable hanger rack system to store bikes in the ceiling space – leaving the floor free for whatever it needs to do.
“The hanger rack system can be used to hang clothes and other items as well as bikes, and visitors can freely touch and take a look at items on hanging from it,” explains Schemata Architects.
