The Shared Lady Beetle was designed by China’s LUO studio as a “micro moveable library for kids”.
An abandoned bicycle, discarded iron car sheets and leftover materials like eco-friendly boards were fashioned into a tricycle with an enclosed compartment for storing teaching materials.
“The goal was to make it creative, interesting and lively and … to reuse industrial waste in a natural and artistic way,” comments LUO studio on the project. To secure its contents, a special shell was added to the design inspired by the bodies of ladybird beetles.
Conceived as a solution for abandoned share bikes in cities, the Shared Lady Beetle can also be “customised based on different needs”.
