Each year the Tour Down Under takes over the streets of Adelaide and the pelotons of the world’s best cycling teams set everyone’s pulses racing! Just as interesting as the racing are the fans that come to town to not only enjoy the races, but catch up with one another and share their passion for life on the road on two wheels. Adelaide’s Treadly Bike Shop has for a number of years acted as an unofficial hub for these fans; friends from all over the country meet there annually to plan rides and discover Adelaide’s best climbs, brands from all over Australia host pop-ups and you can be sure it will always be the starting point for a party or two.
This year Sam Neeft of Treadly Bike Shop and his crew are taking it to a whole new level with the inaugural MAKER event, closing their street to showcase some of the best brands, artists, framebuilders and artisans in Australian cycling.
MAKER wants to showcase what Australia is capable of out of the saddle – and some of our favourite brands from around the country will take over Ebenezer Place on the morning of January 24. From custom steel frames to artist prints, custom-cut leatherwork, software and apparel, you’ll have the chance to put faces to those names you hear so often and perhaps catch some new and exciting brands you might not have checked out yet.
So get along to Ebenezer Place, Adelaide from 10am to experience the best of the East End, with cafes open all day to help fuel your crippling caffeine addiction and get in on the ground floor of the next generation of Aussie cycling! You’ll find all the details at the Facebook MAKER event page.
