Wooden handlebar grips have a long tradition in bicycle manufacturing. Pecker Design takes on this tradition and combines it with modern aesthetics. Pecker’s grips are made of wood, what they feel is the most sustainable alternative to synthetic bike grips. One of the main components of their sustainability concept is local production and the use of indigenous (Austrian) woods together with working with local protected workshops to create a socially and environmentally responsible product.
The wood used in the grips is treated with a natural resin hard oil to protect it from water, heat and dirt. Each grip is one of a kind due to the diversity of texture and colour in the wood.
For the moment only available locally in Europe many of us will have to be content with just looking. In the meantime you can find out more about Pecker Design here.
