It’s that time of the year again when the fine folk of Freo and beyond don their smartest attire and hop on their bicycles, tandems and penny farthings to take part in the 5th annual Freo Tweed Run. Hosted by Dismantle, the Freo Tweed Run celebrates all things dapper and suave, all the while showcasing their peddle powered vehicle of choice.
The chaps and lasses will gather at the Fremantle Esplanade (next to Dismantle’s headquarters) from midday, 26th of October for a picnic and games on the lawn before departing on a genteel ride through the streets of Fremantle. The Tweedsters will set off at 2pm to make their way to North Fremantle Bowls Club for a fun filled afternoon of barefoot bowls and live music from 3pm.
This year, the after party is sponsored by Hendricks and Gage Roads so expect fine beverages and other surprises. Tunes will be coming from the jiving sounds of the Lime Lights and DJ Jiminy Kickit. There will be splendid prizes from Treadlie and Brooks for most dapper chap and dame and best vintage bicycle. And for the hungry, a food van or 2 will be feeding the masses. That’s a whole lot of good reasons to get down to Fremantle for the ever fun Freo Tweed Run.
