Founded in 2009, the Battle on the Border has grown to become one of the leading cycling festivals on the East Coast of Australia, providing a competitive staged racing tour and social rides to participants from across the nation and South East Asia.
Now in its ninth year, the Battle on the Border is a combination of competitive racing and social riding that covers the National Road Series for both men and women, the classic Battle on the Border graded tour, a new Challenge on the Border age group program and Legends Tour, and expanded Fondo social rides including the new FamFondo on closed roads.
The multi-stage tour travels along breathtaking valleys, next to untouched beaches and up challenging mountains showcasing what the Tweed Coast has on offer.
The event base for 2017 will be at the Murwillumbah Showgrounds for all three days of cycling. There will also be an expanded recreational program for non-competitive riders that includes social rides and time trials in both teams and individual formats.
