Tales worth telling

Australia’s Cycling Promotion Fund has been hosting the Australian Bicycling Achievement Awards for twelve years but 2014 sees them stepping it up a notch!

Taking advantage of the chance to partner with Velo-City Global 2014 in Adelaide ,the CPF have given the awards a bit of a revamp while also introducing a global element. Re-named, the Cycling Luminaries Awards will now showcase the achievements of Australian organisations and individuals in getting more people cycling while two new categories, Leadership and First Nations, will in turn introduce Australians to international leaders in these spheres.

Peter Bourke, General Manager of the CPF described the partnership with Velo-city Global 2014 as an opportunity to showcase ‘Tales worth telling, tales worth celebrating’.

Nominations can be made for categories such as Leadership, First Nations, Pimp My Ride, Bike Culture, Cycling for next generation and Built environment. Nominations are open to individuals, groups, businesses, events, organisations or schools that have achieved significant change and inspired or influenced others. The Leadership and First Nations categories are open to nominations from both Australia and internationally. All short-listed nominees will receive a complimentary single day attendance pass to Velo-city Global 2014.
