Review: Riese & Müller Roadster Urban

E-bikes: these magnificent machines allow us to forego packed public transportation and skip the stresses of driving for both the mind and the environment. When it comes to commuting across town, there’s just no better way to do it than by e-bike.

Having spent time riding Riese & Müller’s Roadster Urban, we are pleased to confirm that this hypothesis is most certainly true. True to form, Riese & Müller have delivered a bike with striking looks and usability to boot.

A sleek steed supported by a Bosch Active Plus motor, the Roadster Urban makes for one smooth journey (and many, many more). Riese & Müller spared no effort on the rider’s comfort, either: including the electronic Shimano Alfine Di2 11-speed hub gear with coasting and the Gates belt drive.

Hydraulic Magura MT4 disc brakes make for easy stopping and Schwalbe G-One 40-millimetre tires complete the bike’s modern aesthetic. The Roadster Urban is sprightly, too, thanks to its short stem.

These features and more made door-to-door commuting a delight. With the Roadster Urban, the only issue was delays caused by people admiring the bike! But who can blame them?
