Pushy Women – North AND South of the river.

KMH-General-General-Press-shot-12014 is off to a brilliant start for women who love bikes with The Squeaky Wheel‘s annual Pushy Women season, presented in conjunction with Catherine Deveny, extending south of the river. Eight of Melbourne’s most prominent writers, comedians, thinkers and performers will present their take on being a pushy woman throughout March.

Now in its third year, the event will be staged TWICE, once on each side of the River, with a Pushy Women North and Pushy Women South event.

Part performance, part comedy, the events will showcase Melbourne’s best talent as they discuss the role the humble bicycle has played in their life.

This years’ line up includes radio host extraordinaire Kate Langbroek; funny ladies Nelly Thomas and Bev Killick; actor Genevieve Morris, musician Kate Miller Heidke; Chloe Shorten (daughter Quentin Bryce); craft poster girl and Meet Me At Mikes’ Pip Lincolne, presenter and writer Karen Pickering and writer Monica Dux.

The Pushy Women will push the envelope with tales of life, love, lust and everything in between. Town bikes, speed freaks, lycra lasses, dykes on bikes, pedal pushers, dinkers and BMX bandits – you name it, the Pushy Women have it covered.

Presented in partnership with bicycle advocacy organisation The Squeaky Wheel, this event sells out every year so be sure to book your places now!
