On Yer Bike

On Yer Bike is an Art Exhibition taking place from the 17th of December 2014 until the 26th of January 2015 at the Bay Discovery Centre, Glenelg.

Celebrating the Tour Down Under 2015, “On Yer Bike” will be an eclectic mix of bicycle related artworks which embraces the love of cycling in all its splendour. From child to adult, sport to leisure, professional to pleasure rider, this exhibition is sure to appeal to all whilst sending a message of excitement, energy and enjoyment, and pointing out the benefits to health and the environment.

12 artists will show case their talent through drawing, painting, illustration and sculpture; Jacky Murtaugh, Richard John, Jude Stapleton, Geoffrey Stapleton, Michelle Avery, Steve Oatway, Andrew Bischoff, Gregory Jordan, Scott Rathman, Robin Hicks, Linda Bell, Adam Leddin.

Covering a range of ideas from sporting to leisure, ethical to excellence and most of all portraying Adelaide’s love affair with cycling, this exhibition includes 2D and 3D works from varying cultures and backgrounds offering a unique view of the bicycle. Adelaide is fast becoming known as one of the world’s most ‘cycling friendly” cities with good cycling policies and infrastructure that provide benefits to their citizens, businesses and visitors. This exhibition reinforces that message.

Charlie Walsh (OAM), recipient of an Order of Australia Medal for services to cycling and awarded the status of World Coach by the Union Cycliste Internationale  and 2008 Cyclist of the year will be opening the exhibition on the 15th of January, 7 – 8.30 pm.

On Yer Bike will be on exhibition at Ground Floor Gallery, Bay Discovery Centre, Glenelg Town Hall
