Off Street Parking: Melbourne

With more and more commuters arriving at work by bicycle, secure bike parking, showers and lockers are in demand. Australian office buildings looking for a competitive edge with tenants have to go above and beyond the odd bike rack in a dingy corner of the basement carpark.

The recent redevelopment by Deka of 15 William Street, Melbourne included a brief for end-of-trip facilities for cyclists and PFL Spaces were engaged to come up with the design.

The new facilities include secure parking for 280 bicycles, 430 lockers and 27 showers (with a towel-service).

PFL increased the efficiency of the previous bike parking by introducing horizontal, vertical and double parking racks, freeing up an additional 35-square-metres of change area in the process. The space has been designed to be easily modified to accommodate for future use.
