New Festival Days for Eurobike 2016

It may seem months away, but the Eurobike team is gearing up for a new season. Especially, the event’s new Eurobike Festival Days. “Our new concept for Eurobike will consist of two strong pillars,” Klaus Wellmann, CEO of Messe Friedrichshafen. “In addition to the B2B component, which has proved to be optimally positioned, we will also be establishing the trade show as a multi-day event for cycling enthusiasts. On Saturday and Sunday (September 3 & 4) the industry’s entire 2017 product range and the whole topic of cycling will be presented to bike fans at ten special areas on Messe Friedrichshafen’s vast exhibition grounds. Events will include thrilling races, lectures and shows.

The new Eurobike Festival Days will feature ten areas tailored for awesome biking fun.

 “The program that will be offered to our Eurobike Festival Days visitors is worth more than just a one-day visit. It invites cycling fans to make full use of both days, and to really experience Eurobike like a festival,” says Eurobike Project Director Dirk Heinrich.  In addition to brand-new products from worldwide brands, Eurobike Festival Days will focus on events that will be exclusive to the two-day program for the general public.

EUROBIKE 2015At the Festival Days areas of the grounds, cycling action and test-riding will take center stage. Visitors will have the chance to put roughly 3000 different bikes through their paces on a track network measuring about 10 km. Available models will cover every genre of bicycle – from racing bikes and pedelecs to fatbikes and everything in between.

A special free-admission crowd pleaser will be the Music Area. Throughout Saturday and Sunday, star artists as well as up-and-coming acts from top labels Sony Music, Universal Music and WEA Deutschland will hit the Radio 7 Stage and put Festival Days visitors under their spell. The Festival Days party will start in the evening on Saturday, September 3, with a headline performance. Radio 7 Mixshow host Matze Ihring and star DJ Chris Montana will keep things humming between performances.

The Performance Area, meanwhile, will be packed with spectacular tricks and lightning-fast cycling action. More than just the pros will be showing off their bike skills, as visitors will also have a chance to take part in the show.

Over on the riding tracks in the Kids Area, teens and children of different ages will get to explore their biking talents and skills, and put them to the test.

EUROBIKE 2015Festival Days will also provide visitors with informational and educational opportunities in the Academy Area, which will offer a variety of bike industry expertise aimed at both newcomers and experienced enthusiasts.

In the Women Area, the world of bikes, cycling equipment and clothing will be presented from the female perspective. Visitors will have a chance to speak with female cycling experts and pick up some quick tips. They will also be able to register for group lectures and events.

In the Bike Kitchen Area, experts will be offering bicycle repair tips, and on installing new parts. With their assistance, visitors will even have the chance to apply these tips to their own bikes or to a demo bike provided.

The Innovation Area will be full of the spirit of invention, as it will be here that the winners of the renowned Eurobike Awards will be presented in fresh new surroundings.

Visitors to the Travel Area will be dreaming about their next vacation as representatives of popular bike-touring destinations present their regions and top cycling routes.

And those looking for fashion trends, VIPs and entertainment will be spot on in the Show Area in the East Foyer. Biking fashions from the industry’s leading manufacturers will share the limelight here with prominent figures from a variety of fields.

Eurobike 2016 will take place from Wednesday, August 31, to Saturday, September 9, from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., and on Sunday, September 4, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Eurobike 2016 Business Days (Wednesday to Friday) are exclusively open to trade visitors and accredited journalists. Eurobike 2016 Festival Days (Saturday and Sunday) are open to the general public. The dates for next year’s 26th edition of Eurobike.
