Global cycling brand Rapha are again running their unique cycling event for women across the globe, the Women’s 100 challenge. Inviting women all around the world to cycle 100 kilometres on Sunday 20 July the event, now in its second year, unites women road cyclists of all abilities – from novices and enthusiasts to club racers – and celebrates the sport of cycling.

Participants can ride on their own, form a team with friends or join an organised ride.

Over 4,500 women have signed up in 113 locations across 30 countries, as diverse as Brazil, Poland, Taiwan and the US. Last year over 4,000 women took part and Rapha is hoping to double that number this year. Locally, rides have been registered in Broome, Mooloolaba, Melbourne, Sydney and Perth, as well as a number of centres in New Zealand. Rapha is actively encouraging women from other localities to organise rides in their local community and make it a truly global event.

Andy Pike, Rapha’s Head of Australian & NZ Marketing, said: “The Women’s 100 is a major event for Rapha. It has tapped into the growing popularity of road cycling around the world, and women are really responding to the challenge it offers them.”

One of the key aims of the Women’s 100 is to give novice riders, many of whom may never have experienced the camaraderie of group riding before, the confidence that comes with completing a long-‐distance road cycling event. Of course, a level of fitness is required and regular training rides are on offer in many locations. Rapha’s website has details on this.

Everyone who completes the Women’s 100 will receive a specially designed woven badge to commemorate her achievement. Plus, she’ll have shared an epic and unforgettable challenge with other women across the globe.
