Cycliq wins at Australian Good Design Awards

Fly6 CE Day Commuter Device

Cycliq Group has won gold at the 60th Annual Good Design Awards Ceremony in the categories of ‘Consumer Electronics’ and ‘Product Design’, recognising its outstanding design and innovation for both the Fly6 CE and Fly12 CE; the world’s first dashcams engineered for cyclists.

Both devices are new to the market and have already demonstrated significant popularity amongst Cycliq’s customers with their smaller and more compact design.

The awards, which took place on 17 May at the Sydney Opera House, acknowledge excellence across emerging areas of design including business model innovation, social impact, and design entrepreneurship.

The awards jury commended the Fly6CE and Fly12CE lighting effects and controls, and the products’ overall design and finish.

“Our team is thrilled to win gold at the 2018 Good Design Awards. Cyclists are really into design and the Fly CE range is a significant step forward, combining form and function to put the user experience front and centre,” said Cycliq Executive Chairman Chris Singleton.

“This award is a recognition of our continued commitment to delivering outstanding products to our customers and the dedication and hard work of the Cycliq and Planet Innovation teams.”

Cycliq’s industrial design partner, Planet Innovation has been working with the team for several years.

“Planet Innovation has been an integral part of revolutionising the form factor for the Fly Connected Edition range and continue to ensure our products look as good as they perform,” said Singleton.

The 60th Anniversary Good Design Awards attracted a record number of entries. More than 500 innovative designs were entered, with only 260 projects selected to receive the coveted Good Design Award®.

Winners of the Good Design Awards will be showcased to the general public during Vivid Sydney, the world’s biggest festival of light, music and ideas in Sydney from 25-27 May 2018 at the Overseas Passenger Terminal, Circular Quay.
