Building bridges for bikes

hovenring-overview

Interested in how a simple cycle-path become an international engineering sensation and the pride of a Dutch city?

On November 6, hear from the man behind one of the world’s most famous pieces of bike infrastructure – a soaring, suspended, circular cycle bridge called the Hovenring – and learn what lessons it can teach Sydney.

Adriaan Kok, who designed the circular cycle bridge in the Netherlands, will explain the challenges faced during the design and construction of the bridge. He’ll discuss the bridge’s impact on its home and what Sydney could build to become a better city for bikes.

If you’re interested in cities and mobility, planning and engineering, or just dreaming about what Sydney might look like one day, this free event hosted by City of Sydney at Customs House is for you.
