Renowned adventure cyclist and author, Kate Leeming, has already cycled the width of Africa, pedalled 25,000km around Australia and was the first woman to cycle unsupported across ‘new’ Russia. Now, in the spirit of Douglas Mawson’s heroic feat of survival 100 years ago, she plans to cycle across Antarctica via the South Pole.

Breaking the Cycle South Pole, will be a world first achievement, using cutting edge technology and clever innovation including the world’s first all-wheel drive fat bike. It’s an expedition that embodies the spirit of exploration at its best. However, before she heads to the South Pole in late 2016, Kate Leeming will lead a new Trans-Himalayan cycling expedition for World Expeditions, traversing the backbone of West Himalaya on the world’s highest motorable road.

Over 10 days, Kate and her group will cycle across a vast wilderness landscape on the borderlands of Tibet, crossing passes that afford stunning vistas of snow capped ranges and rugged gorges before descending to the verdant meadows and conifer clad forests of the Kullu Valley and the hill station of Manali. Cycle Leh to Manali will attract highly motivated cyclists keen to get their first experience in the Himalaya. In total, the journey takes 15 days and departs from Delhi on 25 June, 2016. Places are limited to just 16 spots.
