ArtBike (commencing summer 2010) marries creativity, beauty and sustainability and offers free bike access to Hobart's arts precincts and galleries, all the while promoting healthy and climate-friendly transport.
Modelled on bike share services in Paris, Auckland and Melbourne, ArtBike allows art lovers to borrow a bike for free and cruise the galleries of Hobart.
Art Bikes will augment the city environment with the installation of six Bike Bubs, designed by Hobart artist, Ken Betlehem. In six locations, the original, eye catching public art pieces will be locking posts for bikes and act as sign posts for public galleries and artist-run initiatives.
The Dutch Vanmoof bikes are state-of-the-art and built for urban riding. Simple, light and strong with inbuilt solar-charged lights the initial ArtBike fleet will consist of fourteen bikes for both men and women.

Great initiative! But only 14 bikes commissioned? Hopefully they can get better looking helmets too...after all, it is about ART !
These bikes look great, hopefully the artist can be commissioned to make a few more than 14 bikes

How about some info on the Peugeot NS-22? Australia seems to be a hot spot for them. my-ns22.blogspot.com
