The biggest weekend in oh, we don’t know, possibly the history of the universe, is rapidly approaching as Melbourne lurches towards a date with maximum CX mud. For the weekend of May 23rd and 24th sees not only one awesome CX event but two, back-to-back for maximum pain, suffering and lols.
On Saturday May 23rd the first of the Dirty Deeds CX races for the season kicks off at Harrison St velodrome. With the Dirty Deeds season being somewhat leaner this year, this the spiritual home of CX in Melbourne is sure to provide spirited racing together with that special party atmosphere Dirty Deeds is known for. There’ll be races for Mens A, B, C & Open grades, Womens CX and Open grades and for the kids.
You’ll barely have had time to slap on the deep heat and rinse out the NapiSan before dragging your aching body down to Essendon Fields the next day for the hardcore painfest that Fields of Joy CX has become. After kicking off the season with weather imported directly from Belgium and a brutal course Fields of Joy is back for a second round on Sunday May 24th. Again, Fields of Joy will be running a full complement of races ensuring that everyone has the opportunity to turn themselves inside out.
